As an actress, actor, singer, model or artist you are in one of the most competitive fields. For every one that makes it, there are millions that don't.
How do you stand out? How do you find that edge? How do you accept and welcome success into your life? How do you stop the self-sabotage? How do you build a lasting career as a creative professional?
The truth is that it's not just about talent and looks, as they are only 10% of the early success formula. In fact there is an abundance or oversupply of talent in every city. Each notice can easily bring a few hundred headshots or emails in just a few hours.
And if the above wasn't challenging enough, now there is an avalanche of celebrity children, with money and contacts that are entering the business and competing quite successfully for your roles, parts and career opportunities.
Your craft can only be as good as you are right now and you can only get as deep as you are today. The more you get in touch with your deeper self, a more valuable talent you will become. The more you understand what sets you apart the better chance you have for success.
So, how do
you find that edge? That's where we can help you.
BE THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE NORM
Almost every twenty-something that walks the sidewalks of LA considers him or herself an actor, singer, model or director. And statistically speaking none will ever become a success.
The percentage rate for a moderate success is not 1%, which is 1 in 100 actors, it's more like 0.01%. Even this moderate success rate is statistically an impossibility. So, unfortunately the status quo or the norm is to be a failure in Hollywood.
Some actors consider working at SAG/AFTRA minimum daily rate a success. In fact you can only do that for so long before being ignored if you aren't rising and getting higher paid castings. Keep in mind that real success in Hollywood requires upping your marquee value and winning good roles again and again and again.
DOES TALENT OR BEAUTY EQUAL SUCCESS?
If talent meant success, then every talented person should be successful; in fact talented people are routinely not successful. And successful people are typically not very talented.
If beauty meant success, then every good looking person should be a success in Hollywood; in fact since many beautiful people suffer from diva personalities and other negative work habits they are routinely not a real success in Hollywood. And successful people are typically not exceedingly beautiful.
HOW DO YOU WIN IN HOLLYWOOD?
So, how do you win in Hollywood and in life? The real questions should be how to stand out and how to be "bankable" and specially how to manage every casting, meeting, interview and other such situations to go your way, so you can be the exception and not the norm.
